"this is going to sound weird, but is this side of my head bloody?"
10 minutes before i had to be in court this morning, i cut my head open on the corner or our mirror/medicine cabinet. i can't really see it, but don't think its that bad. roommate says i need stitches. security guard winced. do i need stitches? are they necessary? it doesn't really hurt. things are a little skewed. a little dizzy. i hope i don't have to get part of my head shaved. court was fun. paid another $800 and promised not to get in trouble for a year. happy monday! |

our new practice space is legit. it was once a post office and was last used by the deadliest man in kitsap. its right across the street from the manette, which is bittersweet, because while it will be great to take a break from practice to grab a brew, i'm not looking forward to becoming a regular at a bremerton bar. again. the bremerton bar crowd is full of faces i don't like to see. today as i was getting on my bike to go to bremerton, a woman was walking my direction crying and carrying a limp, bloody dog. i asked if she was alright and offered to help, but the dog was already dead. i left as she was bringing it to it's owners. our neighbors. there is blood all over the road. |

in a few minutes i will be leaving to go here to put the finishing touches on the alligators album. the owners wife has a bakery and according to don, our engineer, mastering is all about pastries, so there will be pastries and coffee waiting for us. there is also a webcam in the studio, so you should watch us eat and drink. *edit. here we are. no pastries yet. i haven't been up this early in a long time. i like it. i'm about to meet up with an attorney for the second time. i will be giving him a bunch of money to hear what i already know. this is overkill. i've been really into candy bars lately. |

i am meeting with an attorney at 11:30 tomorrow on tuesday. alligators will be playing music for children at a library tonight. we are moving out the end of next month. hopefully we'll have a bitchin new practice space in manette soon (currently an art gallery/ultimate fighting gym). i'm going to be in some serious debt for the first time in a very long time. i've been drinking too much. this has been the strangest august ever. |

the maximum penalty for trip ticket violation is one year in jail or a $5000 fine or both. the maximum penalty for failing to register the vehicle within 45 days is 90 days in jail or a $1000 fine or both. fuck. |

zach, maggie, tyler, jerry, bill and carl are all camping right now. i am not because of the warrant. i had my first court date this morning at 8:45 and was charged another $100 for some bullshit fee. court is weird. the judge was a judge judy-esque power tripping bitch. but she liked my name and was actually kind of nice to me. kind of. probably because i'm not being charged with various degrees of assault like most of the people there. now i have to go back to court in a few minutes for my first mandatory trial. second one is in november. on a good note: last night was absolutely insane and wonderful. the album is so close to being finished. i might be going to europe in october. the library's classical music selection is surprisingly good. this phillip glass violin concerto is dope. |

i have a warrant out for my arrest? what the fuck? apparently i have two seperate court dates for this bus/trip ticket incident a few weeks ago. one was yesterday. i didn't go, because i got something in the mail the day before saying i have a date with the court nov. 4th which i thought was in place of the other because i am contesting the charges. so now a warrant has been issued for my arrest. what the fuck does QUASH mean?! i know now, but the lady on the phone kept telling me i have to come in monday and quash my warrant. when i asked her to explain that, she just repeated "QUASH". "you have to come in monday at 8:45 to quash the warrant. you'll go to court and they'll quash it." thanks to my dictionary widget, i now understand that quash means to reject or void. so if any police officer checks my ID between now and monday at 8:45AM, i am going to jail. is this really necessary? fuck this bureaucracy. all because of a trip ticket that was valid to begin with. what is happening to my life? |

i pick the ugly fruit. the ones with the scuffs and bruises.
dreams and reality have been mixing. there was a meteor shower on our roof. i rode in a glass airplane over a sunny city in zero gravity. a cellist named rachel came over to our house to record strings. 90's bands like our band. better than beatles. all my old friends and ex's are married or getting married. i still get crushes like weeds with no chance to grow. some of this has to be real. one man's TMI is another man's JEI. just enough information. |

may 7th, 2008 "give me one good reason not to grow a gnarly beard." well. i did it. three months of beard. now i've got a ridiculous haircut and i look like i'm 17. it's a good thing i don't have a girlfriend. but as maggie pointed out, looking this stupid weeds out the bad girls. if i can find a girl while looking like this, i'll know she's a keeper. |

i am prepared to live simply. i know i'm never going to make much money. we were recently asked to sign to a label down in california. we told them we're not looking to sign anything right now, but to send us a contract anyway and we would look it over. since i was 17, i've known how difficult it would be to actually make a living playing music. looking over this contract was not only a reminder of that, but how filthy the music business can be. i hate business. i'm going to ride my bike. |
